A residence in suburban Brisbane that could charitably be described as a mess has become the surprise top ranking property in the listings on Australia’s RealEstate.com.au site.

The Courter-Mail reports the two-bedroom property in Mitchelton, Australia, is being advertised with the headline “Renovate or Detonate,” with a listing price at above $699,000. The derelict house offers buyers such distinctive features as broken windows covered with cardboard, peeling walls spraypainted with graffiti, closets that are missing doors, and a surplus amount of garbage inside and outside.

Despite its aesthetically displeasing appearance, the listing has generated “more offers than I could count,” according to marketing agent Rob Missenden of Denovans Real Estate. However, Missenden warned most of these inquiries are not to be taken seriously.

“We’ve had plenty of people making offers without it seeing it, subject to finance and building and pest, so we’re not entertaining those ones too heavily,” Missenden said. “The most amount of interest has been from flippers and people wanting to renovate.”

Missenden, who blamed the property’s rundown state on a “housemate” of the owner, added the listing price was 40% lower than the town’s median house price of $1.115 million. The last time the property was listed was in 2011 when it was being marketed for $339,000.
