CoStar Group has agreed to acquire Vexcel Group, a provider of aerial imagery and geospatial information, for approximately $730 million in cash. The agreement was announced October 27, 2026; the acquisition has not yet closed.

According to CoStar’s announcement and its October 27 Form 8-K, the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. CoStar expects closing in the first quarter of 2027 and plans to fund the acquisition using cash and its existing revolving credit facility.

Vexcel’s imagery covers more than 45 countries and 320 major metropolitan areas, including areas home to 99.6% of the U.S. population. The company captures more than 60 million images annually, providing data used for mapping, insurance, infrastructure and property analysis.

CoStar expects to combine the imagery with AI-derived property information across its real estate data and marketplace platforms. Those applications are plans, not proven outcomes. The deal would extend CoStar’s data collection capabilities beyond its existing property research and listing operations.

CoStar also reported third-quarter revenue of $952 million, up 14% from a year earlier, and adjusted EBITDA of $229 million. The acquisition is separate from those already-reported operating results.
