In brief: Dream Finders Homes completed its approximately $2.2 billion acquisition of Beazer Homes on October 20, becoming the nation’s sixth-largest homebuilder based on 2025 revenue. Beazer shareholders received $33.50 per share in cash, and Beazer stock was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange.
Dream Finders Homes announced the completed transaction Tuesday, moving one of the year’s largest U.S. homebuilder combinations from a proposed deal to an operating integration. The approximately $2.2 billion figure represents enterprise value, not the amount paid solely for Beazer’s shares.
Four new states and a larger mortgage platform
The acquisition takes Dream Finders into California, Nevada, Indiana and Delaware and expands its presence around Washington, D.C., including Maryland. The combined company operates across 26 of the nation’s 50 largest metropolitan markets, according to the announcement.
Dream Finders also gains scale in mortgage banking and title services. Management plans to use the larger footprint to lower construction costs, shorten build times and shift Beazer communities toward Dream Finders floor plans that it believes better fit buyers’ budgets.
Founder and CEO Patrick Zalupski acknowledged the challenging housing environment and described integration as the company’s next priority. The transaction is Dream Finders’ ninth acquisition since its 2021 initial public offering and its largest to date.
Cost savings are projected, not realized
Dream Finders expects more than $100 million in annual run-rate cost savings and double-digit percentage core earnings-per-share accretion in the first year. Those are management forecasts rather than verified post-merger results. The company also expects to return to and improve its previous leverage metrics within 18 to 24 months.
The closing follows Beazer shareholders’ October approval and WRE’s earlier coverage of the acquisition agreement. The new development is the completed closing, delisting and start of integration, not a repeat of the August agreement.
For builders, lenders and buyers, the deal is another test of whether national scale can offset financing costs and weak affordability without reducing choice in local new-home markets.
