Madison, Wisconsin-headquartered Fairway Home Mortgage has launched Fairway SAFE (Senior Advocacy & Financial Education), a nonprofit initiative dedicated to helping older adults and their families recognize, prevent, and respond to financial scams and exploitation.
The initial offering for this initiative will be the free educational webinar, “Stay Safe: Protecting Yourself from Scams & Financial Abuse,” to be held on July 29 at 2:00 pm EDT. The webinar will examine the depth and scope of financial scams and elder exploitation while offering practical steps for protecting seniors’ personal finances. Registration is now available online.
“Education remains one of the most effective tools we have in the fight against financial fraud,” said Steven JJ Weisman, attorney and fraud prevention expert, who will host the webinar. “Helping people recognize the warning signs before they become victims can make an enormous difference.”
