Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte reacted angrily to last night’s appeals court ruling blocking President Trump from firing Federal Reserve Gov. Lisa Cook by blaming the “fake news” for not backing his efforts to have Cook removed from office.

In a series of tweets on his personal X account – the director does not use the official X account set up for him by his agency – Pulte accused the “fake news” of refusing to slant their stories in a manner that would support his anti-Cook campaign.

“21 attorney generals came together to support Trump in Trump v Cook. You won’t see this reported by the Fake News,” wrote Pulte on a tweet that showed the first page of an amicus brief filed by “Florida, 21 other states, and the Arizona legislature.” However, while the brief included the name of Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, there was no press statement by Uthmeier’s office announcing his backing of Pulte’s efforts.

Pulte also several posted the anti-media messages including “Why hasn’t the fake news asked what mortgage rate Lisa Cook should have got, and what her down payment was?” He also declared, “It is amazing how fake the fake news is.”

Pulte only named one “fake news” resource in his rant when he stated, “I find it so interesting that the fake news, especially Marisa Taylor from Reuters who third parties will have an easy defamation claim against soon, say that there is no issue with Cook’s primary residence, when, in fact, Cook has a very big issue with ‘primary residence.’”

Cook, who has not been charged with a crime, was also the direct target of Pulte’s social media wrath with his messages “The lady doth protest too much, methinks” and “It doesn’t matter if you are a Fed Governor or a famous person, if we believe you have committed mortgage fraud, we will refer/pursue it.”

In comparison, President Trump made no mention of the appeals court ruling on his Truth Social page.
