The government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) of Fannie Mae (OTCQB: FNMA) and Freddie Mac (OTCQB: FMCC) have a curious human resources problem – agents from North Korea and China were discovered working for them.
Bill Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, announced the discovery of these unlikely employees in a Bloomberg TV interview at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills, California. He revealed the presence of North Koreans and Chinese nationals when he was asked about his efforts to fight fraud and waste at the GSEs.
“We recently criminally referred some North Koreans and Chinese for working inside Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac,” Pulte said. “I mean, what are the Chinese and the North Koreans doing in these companies?”
NKNews.org noted that North Korea’s government is known to send skilled IT professionals to friendly countries such as China, Russia and Southeast Asian states, from where they can gain remote work opportunities with US and European companies. Pulte offered no further details on the matter, so it is unclear whether the North Korean and Chinese were remote workers or were physically inside the GSEs’ offices.

Deport them all, immediately!
Why does this not surprise me? I suppose it’s what you get for having a government asleep on the beach for even the past 4 years!
