A historic Masonic temple in Oakland, California, is being marketed for the first time since its opening in 1927.

The Scottish Rite Temple is an 85,000-square-foot building spanning four levels and multiple spaces. Based on a 1.46-acre parcel, the site features surface parking and the building has been a popular site for corporate and special events, as well as live performances.

Colliers is exclusively marketing the temple, promoting its potential as an “expansive event and conference space, historical features, and multiple revenue-producing use options in the near term — while the parking lot presents a rare, buildable footprint for a future commercial or mixed-use development.”

The building has been the temple for the Scottish Rite Valley of Oakland, which was founded in 1883 and has boasted a membership roster that has included Supreme Court Justice Earl Warren and Oakland Tribune publisher Joseph Knowland.
