Summary

New American Funding has recruited the Mullinix mortgage team in the Carolinas.

New American Funding has recruited the Mullinix Mortgage Group, led by Will Mullinix, to expand its Carolinas operation. The lender said in an October 13 announcement that the group has originated more than $2 billion in mortgages over Mullinix’s career.

The team serves borrowers from offices in Charlotte and Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. New American Funding named Taylor Linde, Morgan Wise, Lenzi Moore, Don Walker and Marty Pizzo among the loan officers and support personnel making the move.

The $2 billion figure describes cumulative career originations, not annual funded production or a pipeline that will transfer to the new employer. The company did not disclose recent annual volume, compensation arrangements or expected branch revenue.

The lender said the team will gain access to its national product platform and a Vesta loan-origination system planned for rollout in 2027. That implementation has not yet occurred.

The recruitment comes as mortgage companies compete for experienced producers during a period of reduced loan demand. Whether the transition expands funded volume will depend on future production, which cannot be established from the hiring announcement.
