The Manhattan townhouse that served as Audrey Hepburn’s home in the 1961 film classic “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” has been listed for $15 million.
The New York Post reports to five-story, 4,465-square-foot property at 169 East 71st Street recently underwent a three-year renovation. The townhouse – which is now a two-family residence – features four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, three powder rooms, two gas fireplaces, a landscaped 30-foot garden, two setback terraces, and a south-facing Juliet balcony.
The home’s owner, retired beverage industry executive Joseph Harkins, purchased the property 2015 for $7.4 million. While the interiors for “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” were filmed in a Hollywood studio, the exterior was featured in the film’s iconic taxi hailing scene featuring Hepburn, George Peppard and Patricia Neal. Since the film’s release, the townhouse has been a popular site for movie-loving tourists.
“169 East 71st Street is the original ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ home, immortalized by Audrey Hepburn and woven into the fabric of New York’s cultural legacy,” said Caroline Bass of The Corcoran Group, the home’s listing agent.
