A Philadelphia contractor with an extremely extensive active list of fraud cases across Pennsylvania has been arrested following charges that he conducted another home improvement fraud scheme.
North Penn Now reports Scott David Miller and a co-defendant, Alexandra Maria Gelone, were arraigned last week on multiple felony charges including corrupt organizations, conspiracy, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, home improvement fraud and multiple counts of dealing in the proceeds of unlawful activities.
According to the charges, the defendants accepted large deposits from homeowners for construction projects that were never completed. The duo made repeated provided excuses for their delays, refused to return money after abandoning their work, and moved customer funds through a network of personal and business bank accounts. The ill-gotten gains were later used for personal spending, gambling transactions and other financial activities.
According to the affidavit, Miller “has more than 40 active cases related to his fraud scheme stemming from various jurisdictions across Pennsylvania” between October 2025 and June 2026. Those cases include allegations of theft, home improvement fraud, bad checks and dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities. To date, the allegations are still pending and have not been proven in court.
Police added Gelone helped Miller by managing business entities and financial accounts connected to his contracting companies. Court documents allege investigators traced millions of dollars through accounts associated with Miller and Gelone while reviewing financial records obtained through search warrants.
