Summary

ID Plans announced an undisclosed strategic investment from Polaris Growth Fund on October 29, 2026. The commercial property data and management software provider will retain its name and leadership. Financial terms, valuation and closing date were not disclosed.

Commercial property technology provider ID Plans has brought in Polaris Growth Fund as an investor, giving the Tampa company outside capital to expand software used to document, inspect and manage buildings.

The companies announced the investment October 29 without disclosing the amount, ownership stake or valuation. They also did not provide a closing date. The announcement describes a strategic investment; it should not be characterized as a full acquisition or a completed change of control.

ID Plans founder and chief executive Jeff Landry will remain in place, and the business will continue under its existing name and leadership team, according to the release. Software Equity Group advised ID Plans on the transaction.

Founded in 1999, ID Plans collects building information through field personnel, 3D cameras and aerial drones. Its ID Cloud platform brings that information into a centralized system used for property documentation, tenant turnover, maintenance and virtual tours. The company says it serves retail, office, industrial, manufacturing and government properties.

The investment gives Polaris Growth Fund a foothold in a part of commercial real estate technology that operates closer to the physical asset than a conventional listings platform. Building owners need accurate floor plans, exterior asset inventories and space records when they market vacant premises, assess repairs or hand a unit to a new tenant. The quality of those records affects how much manual work property managers and leasing teams must repeat.

Growth capital without a disclosed price

Polaris Growth Fund is an affiliate of Polaris Partners focused on software and technology-enabled services. Managing partner Dan Lombard said the firm plans to support product investment and broader market reach. Neither party provided a revenue target, staffing plan or timetable for new products, making the scale of the proposed expansion difficult to evaluate independently.

There is also a distinction between data collection and operational intelligence. An accurate property record can support maintenance scheduling and leasing decisions, but software vendors’ claims of efficiency gains require customer-level evidence. The October 29 announcement does not quantify savings, implementation costs or adoption rates for ID Cloud.

The company operates in an increasingly crowded technology market. Other property software firms are promoting systems that combine tenant communications, service requests and asset information. HqO’s recent rollout of its REX AI platform illustrates that broader push toward centralized property data, although the products address different workflows and should not be treated as direct substitutes.

For commercial landlords, the immediate question is whether new investment will improve data consistency across multiple properties and reduce the work required to prepare space for leasing. Those outcomes will depend on how ID Plans develops its tools and how customers integrate them with existing property-management systems.

Terms of the Polaris investment remain undisclosed. Until the parties release additional information, there is no verified basis to estimate the transaction’s size or the investor’s percentage ownership.
