Redfin and Rocket-related entities face federal litigation over a previously reported data-security incident, with proposed class-action complaints filed in the Western District of Washington in October.
Frankie Moreno filed a complaint on October 14 in case 2:26-cv-03915. Alena Titarchuk filed another complaint on October 16 in case 2:26-cv-03960. Federal docket listings identify Redfin Corporation and Rocket-related defendants and show notices identifying earlier related cases.
The plaintiffs allege that personal information was inadequately protected and seek legal relief. The claims are allegations; no finding of liability or class certification has been established by the docket information reviewed for this report.
In comments reported by RISMedia, Redfin said it identified suspicious activity involving an employee account in March, engaged forensic experts, reviewed its systems, notified potentially affected individuals and offered two years of complimentary credit monitoring. The company said it expects to prevail in the litigation.
The number of affected people, the precise categories of data exposed and the merits of the complaints have not been independently established here. The complete complaint documents have not been reviewed for this article.
WRE News previously covered Redfin’s data-breach report to Massachusetts regulators in September. The October filings represent a subsequent legal development, not a new breach announced this week.
