Summary

Rocket Pro launched Orbit, a nationwide broker rewards program that combines production and loan performance, adds EPO protection and pricing-credit options, and extends the Compass credit through Dec. 31 at 20 basis points.

Rocket Pro launched a new broker rewards program Tuesday that ties benefits to both production and loan performance, while extending its Compass pricing credit through the end of 2026 at 20 basis points.

The program, called Orbit, is live nationwide for Rocket Pro wholesale broker partners. It replaces the company’s Pinnacle rewards structure and is designed to make rewards available across brokerage sizes rather than concentrating eligibility around raw production volume.

Rocket’s Orbit program page says qualifying partners receive purchase-processing commitments, protection from eligible early-payoff fees, the ability to convert unused rate-lock extension days into pricing credits, loan officer placement support and other partner benefits.

For brokers, the most immediate economic feature may be Padlock Exchange. Rocket says eligible Orbit partners can convert three available Padlock days into one basis point of pricing credit on an existing loan, with a maximum of 50 basis points per loan and no monthly usage cap. The benefit applies to eligible loans locked on or after Oct. 6 and cannot be used as a general pricing reduction strategy. Jumbo loans are excluded.

Rocket says approved uses include lock extensions, certain regulatory-failure cures, post-lock pricing improvements and shortages in funds needed to close.

Orbit combines production and performance

Eligibility is based on production requirements scaled to brokerage size and a rolling 90-day performance scorecard. Austin Niemiec, head of Rocket Pro and chief revenue officer of Rocket Mortgage, told National Mortgage Professional that partners must maintain at least a three-star score, with measures including lock pull-through, overall pull-through and the quality of initial underwriting submissions.

Existing Pinnacle partners will transition into Orbit, according to Niemiec. Production requirements vary by brokerage size and are reviewed quarterly.

That structure matters in a wholesale market where lender loyalty programs have often favored the largest broker shops. Rocket is explicitly positioning Orbit as a broader program, giving smaller firms a path to the same operating benefits if their production and loan performance meet the company’s thresholds.

One of those benefits is EPO protection. Rocket says it will waive eligible early-payoff fees when another originating company pays off a qualifying loan during the applicable EPO window. The protection does not apply when the broker itself pays off the loan.

Purchase Priority becomes an Orbit benefit

Orbit also incorporates Rocket Pro’s Purchase Priority program, which promises same-business-day conditional approval and a 12-business-day clear to close on eligible conventional purchase loans.

Rocket’s published terms say the current Purchase Priority period begins Oct. 6 for eligible conventional purchase loans registered on or after that date and reaching Folder Received status by 4 p.m. Eastern on Dec. 14. Loans remain subject to credit approval and applicable federal and state requirements.

Rocket had previously offered the purchase-processing benefit through its monthly Power Play promotions. Making it part of Orbit turns what had been a promotional feature into a benefit attached to qualifying partner status, although Rocket’s current published Purchase Priority terms still define a specific program period.

The company is also adding a Loan Officer Placement Program that connects newly licensed or transitioning loan officers with participating broker partners. According to National Mortgage Professional, participating brokerages must be licensed in at least five states.

Compass credit stays — at 20 basis points

Alongside the Orbit rollout, Rocket Pro is extending its pricing incentive for eligible loans involving Compass agents through Dec. 31.

The credit had been scheduled to expire Oct. 6. Niemiec told HousingWire that it will continue at 20 basis points, down from the original 40-basis-point credit.

Rocket says the Compass program has generated more than $3 billion in locked loan volume and has been used by nearly 2,000 broker partners. Those figures were provided by Rocket and have not been independently audited by WRE News.

The extension builds on a broader relationship between Rocket and Compass. WRE News reported in May 2025 that the companies entered a three-year strategic alliance intended to connect Compass agents and clients with Rocket’s mortgage products.

Rocket’s second-quarter 2026 results showed how important the broker channel and Compass relationship have become to its distribution strategy. The company reported that Rocket Pro generated $10.9 billion in net rate-lock volume during the quarter and said the Compass partnership had produced more than $2 billion in net rate-lock volume since inception at that point.

Orbit arrives after Rocket Pro also changed its wholesale pricing strategy in September, moving several temporary incentives into base pricing. The combination of standardized base pricing, the extended Compass credit and performance-based Orbit benefits gives brokers several separate levers that can affect economics and execution on individual loans.

For broker owners, that makes the eligibility details as important as the headline benefits. Orbit status is not automatic for every Rocket Pro partner. Production, performance and individual program requirements determine which benefits are available, and several benefits carry loan-level restrictions.

Rocket says partners can see their Orbit status, earned benefits and remaining qualification requirements through a dashboard in the Rocket Pro portal.
