The Alexander brothers have filed a $500 million defamation lawsuit against The Real Deal, a trade journal focused on the real estate industry.
The Wall Street Journal reports the lawsuit comes in the wake of federal sex-trafficking charges the prominent luxury real estate brokers Tal and Oren Alexander, and their brother Alon, an executive at the family’s security company. The brothers claimed the publication conducted a “smear campaign” against them, adding The Real Deal “has relentlessly published articles containing false and misleading statements” regarding them.
The Alexanders have pleaded not guilty to the federal charges; they also face multiple civil lawsuits filed by women who claim the siblings sexually harassed and assaulted them.
Amir Korangy, the publisher of The Real Deal, called the lawsuit frivolous and insisted his outlet’s coverage was accurate. The publication was among the first to report on the allegations against the brothers, which started to emerge in June 2024.
