Summary

Title Resources Group created a chief technology officer position and appointed former MAXEX CTO Brian Ruzycki to lead its technology organization, adding executive oversight of technology, governance and innovation.

Title Resources Group has created a chief technology officer position and hired longtime mortgage and fintech executive Brian Ruzycki to fill it.

The Irving, Texas-based title insurance underwriter announced the appointment Monday. Ruzycki will oversee TRG’s technology organization as the company increases executive-level responsibility for technology, governance and innovation.

Ruzycki most recently served as chief technology officer at MAXEX, the mortgage capital-markets platform, where TRG said he led the company’s technology platform, cloud infrastructure strategy and artificial-intelligence initiatives.

A mortgage-heavy technology background

Ruzycki brings more than 20 years of technology leadership experience spanning mortgage lending, servicing, capital markets, fintech, software and real estate technology.

Before MAXEX, he held senior technology roles at RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing, Homeowners Financial Group, Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp., Carrington Mortgage Holdings and Xome, according to TRG.

That background puts an executive with experience across several stages of the mortgage lifecycle into the technology leadership role at a title underwriter. Title operations increasingly intersect with digital closing, fraud prevention, data exchange and integrations among lenders, agents, settlement providers and other participants in a real estate transaction.

TRG did not announce a new technology product, spending commitment or specific AI deployment with Monday’s appointment. The immediate development is organizational: technology now has a dedicated C-suite position.

“The addition of a Chief Technology Officer is an important milestone for TRG, strengthening executive leadership in technology, governance and innovation,” CEO Kevin Wall said in the company’s announcement.

TRG’s ownership and agent network

Title Resources Group operates as a title insurance underwriter serving independent agents and affiliated partners. The company identifies Anywhere Real Estate, HomeServices of America, Lennar and Opendoor Technologies among its affiliate partners.

The company’s executive leadership page now lists Ruzycki as chief technology officer alongside CEO Kevin Wall, CFO Peter Prygelski and other senior executives.

Ruzycki holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and has completed executive leadership training through the Center for Creative Leadership. TRG also said he serves as a mentor in the University of Texas at Dallas MBA Mentorship Program.

The appointment comes as title companies and their mortgage-industry counterparts continue investing in automation and data infrastructure. TRG did not disclose whether Ruzycki’s arrival will change its current technology roadmap, making any specific product or investment implications premature.
