Former President Donald Trump vowed to fight “all the way up to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary” to prevent New York Attorney General Letitia James from seizing his commercial properties.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Trump stated his legal team has appealed and requested a stay on the $454 million in his valuation fraud case. Trump stated that “they can’t take away your property before you’ve had a chance to appeal,” although James declared she would seize his assets if he failed to post the $454 million by March 25 and has already begun the process in filings on two of Trump’s properties in New York’s Westchester County.
Trump stated he has nearly $500 million in cash and other properties.
“That doesn’t mean I’m going to give money to a rogue and incompetent judge — the puppet of a corrupt attorney general who’s failing with violent crime and migrant crime and whose only purpose in life is attempting to get Trump,” Trump said, referring to New York Judge Arthur Engoron and James. The former president added that Engoron “openly and hostilely disrespects the decision of the appellate division, which ruled in my favor. Hopefully they will set the record straight — he has already been overturned four times on this case.”
Trump’s interview came as shareholders in his Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, voted to become publicly traded through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company. Trump holds 78.7 million shares in Trump Media & Technology Group and his personal stake in the company could be worth between $3 billion and $4 billion at its current stock price of approximately $44.17.
