Development is underway on a new mixed-use property in central Connecticut that will encompass retail, lodging and a master-planned community.
The Hartford Courant reported the new Cheshire Crossing retail development will feature a 152,000-square-foot shopping center anchored by Whole Foods; a 23,000-square-foot TJ Maxx and 38,000 square feet of smaller storefront space will also be part of the development.
Cheshire Crossing will be the retail component of Stone Bridge Crossing, which will encompass 140 townhomes, 300 multifamily units and a 125-room Homewood Suites hotel. The new development will be based off I-691 on the line separating the towns of Cheshire and Southington.
Regency Centers, an owner and developer of shopping centers, is the driving force behind this project. The company also owns Corbin’s Corner, a retail plaza located roughly 20 minutes away from the new development in West Hartford.
