Ohio legislators are returning to the State House on July 21 to vote on overriding some Gov. Mike DeWine’s vetoes on property tax reforms.
WSYX reports that DeWine issued 67 line-item vetoes in the state’s $60 billion budget bill. The special session will consider three of the vetoes – a provision granting county budget commissions authority to unilaterally reduce a levy passed by voters for a school district or other taxing authority under certain circumstances; a provision for certain tax levies to be included in the 20-mill floor calculation for school funding purposes; and a provision eliminating the power of school districts and local governments to levy replacement property taxes.
Ohio’s Senate has not set a date for the consideration of overriding the governor’s votes. Both the House and Senate will need a three-fifths affirmative vote to override a veto.

This RINO governor cannot be gone soon enough.
