Summary
Baessler Homes and Hartford Homes announced a proposed merger into Baessler Hartford Homes, expected to close by the end of 2026 subject to required approvals.
Two established Northern Colorado homebuilders have agreed to combine under the Baessler Hartford Homes name, a proposed merger that would unite operations across the region’s fast-growing Front Range communities.
Hartford Homes announced the plan October 7, with finalization expected by the end of 2026 subject to legal and regulatory requirements. The companies say they will continue operating independently until the transaction closes, and existing home purchases, warranties and customer relationships will be supported during the transition.
Hartford was founded in 1988 and says it has developed more than 40 communities and built more than 5,200 homes. Baessler dates to 1968 and has built more than 4,500 homes, according to Builder’s reporting on the proposed combination.
The planned company would serve communities including Greeley, Fort Collins, Windsor, Timnath, Loveland, Johnstown, Hudson, Ault and Fort Lupton. Financial terms, ownership allocations and the precise management structure were not disclosed in the announcement reviewed by WRE News.
Combining local builders can create purchasing and administrative efficiencies, but the companies have not quantified expected savings or provided a pro forma backlog. Their commitment to maintain customer obligations is significant for buyers with homes under construction, although implementation will remain a practical test as the merger proceeds.
The deal comes amid broader homebuilding consolidation. WRE News has reported Champion Homes’ acquisition plans for Timberline’s Southeast retail locations, while larger public builders continue expanding through purchases of local operators.
This is a proposed merger, not a completed acquisition. The companies’ October 7 statement sets out an intended structure and timetable; the final close and any changes to operating arrangements will require follow-up reporting.
