The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has reported finding tens of thousands of paid software licenses that have gone unused at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
In an X posting, DOGE reported that HUD completed an audit that discovered a surplus amount of paid software licenses that are not being used. The initial findings determined the following imbalances:
- 35,855 ServiceNow licenses on three products, with only 84 users
- 11,020 Acrobat licenses with zero users
- 1,776 Cognos licenses with 325 users
- 800 WestLaw Classic licenses with 216 users
- 10,000 Java licenses with 400 users
“All are being fixed,” said DOGE in its X post.
