The only Tennessee home designed by the iconic architect Frank Lloyd Wright has been listed for the first time in its 75-year-history.
Realtor.com reports the 1,784-square-foot Chattanooga-based Usonian residence built in 1952 is now up for sale at $1.6 million. Wright was commissioned by Seamour and Gertie Shavin to create the residence, and the property has been passed down through the family over the years.
The ranch-level residence has three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, and the 0.89-acre property offers views of the Tennessee River and Lookout Mountain.
“The Shavin House stands as one of the finest examples of Usonian architecture in the country, a rare expression of Wright’s commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and organic design,” said the listing.
