The median asking prices for homes in Ireland shot up by 4.3% during the second quarter, marking the first increase after three consecutive quarterly declines. On a year-over-year basis, asking prices are up 2.2%
According to data from the Irish property resource MyHome.ie, the national asking price of $356,000. In the Dublin capital city metro, the $458,000 median asking price was up 3.3% from the first quarter and up 0.6% from the second quarter of 2022.
Outside of the Dublin, the median asking price of $306,000 was up by 4.6% from the previous quarter and up 3.5% from one year earlier.
Conall Mac Coille, chief economist at Davy Group, which co-produced the data report, said the statistics pointed to a strengthening of Ireland’s housing environment despite recent European Central Bank interest rate hikes.
“Housing demand remains resilient,” he said. “There were €1.27 billion of mortgage approvals in May, a fresh record high. This represents 11.5% volume growth in the numbers of homebuyers with mortgage approval.”
