The embattled Las Vegas Realtors (LVR) kicked off 2025 by having two of its presidents resigning on the same day.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the LVR’s outgoing president, Merri Perry, resigned on Jan. 2 while Joshua Campa, her successor, also resigned on the same day. Campa stated in a social media post that his resignation was due to “a certain group of people have become fixated on wanting me to get removed since I embarked on this journey.”
Campa was replaced by 2025 President-elect George Kypreos, who uploaded a video on the LVR YouTube page that addressed the tumult that recently impacted the group, stating the days of “neon lights, cheap tricks and endless distractions” were behind the LVR.
“I’m speaking to you now because our entire membership, our entire community is owed an apology,” he said in the video. “This past year our association was rocked by allegations of election tampering, breaches of confidentiality, suspensions, resignations, we witnessed controversies played out in the glaring light of mainstream social media. Our failure is not about mistakes made by individuals, it’s about an institution falling short of the promise it makes to the people it serves.”
Last August, LVR CEO Wendy DiVecchio was suspended from her position for 30 days following allegations that she interfered with the 2025 election of the association’s board officers and directors. Several members of the LVR later filed formal complaints against the organization’s leaders with the Nevada attorney general’s office, claiming election tampering in the 15,000-member group.
I’m glad I live in the other Las Vegas, the original established in 1835 in New Mexico. Keep politics out of it and work for a better community.
I appreciate the integrity that you would like to influence upon lasvegas realtors, however It doesn’t seem to hold many true to any Oath Or integrity Of whom they claim to be As a realtor. I truly believe there are Lawbidding Realitors and brokers in Las Vegas but there’s an equal amount of disgraceful ones. There should be stiffer penalties and fines for realtors that are not faithful to the client that hires them, like lose their license all together, and possibly jail time. people would like to believe they are bound to the law to represent you like a lawyer, but sadly many can’t be trusted. the license is to easy to get for it to really matter to some. I belong to organizations that do More thorough investigations and background checks, ones that questions people’s families, friends and neighbors to find out if they are worthy enough to be entrusted with the responsibility that is expected of what they are to be representing in the future. Hopefully we can find a way to get rid of the non ethical ones and have anyone with a license have the integrity that is expected. I have more suggestions as far as the English language requirements and not trying to sneak things in, like offering warranties. there was a time when a realitor earned their commission.
